But to see all the in-between

spaces, to cross a river

and then cross it again,

to watch the hills rise

and the mountains fall away

into a great stretch

of openness, to be part of

the landscape along

the way ....

Yes, yes, yes. The earthbound glory and comfort of train travel. Love this, Tara.

That last line got me. I love daffodils but as usual, I forgot to plant the bulbs on time.

Bulb planting season got away from last fall, as well. Luckily we still have many that come up from years past. Hopefully you have neighbors whose daffodils you can enjoy. 🌼

I love this, Tara. Like Margaret Ann, I love seeing “all the in between spaces.” Trains are so romantic.

Thanks, LeeAnn. I totally agree about trains being romantic, but I have very little evidence to back that up. I've ridden a train only a handful of times in my life. But I have such a well developed fantasy of train travel, that it really doesn't matter.

Mine is mostly based on fantasy too. I’ve taken a few trains in Europe and Japan and they are so superior to what we have here. The idea of it is so wonderful.

This is lovely. The ending is so good! I love the idea of "But to see all the in-between

spaces" on a trip.

Here's mine: https://margaretannsilver.substack.com/p/for-a-daughter-who-might-fly-away. It's a lot of pressure to put on my daughter for simply sending a link to a possible program 😁. But I ran with it anyway.
